Practice
Norman has a broad civil practice with an emphasis on commercial and securities litigation.  He has acted for the Securities and Futures Commission and parties under investigation in a number of cases before the courts and the specialist tribunals (Market Misconduct Tribunal, Securities and Futures Appeals Tribunal).  Norman also has experience in other practice areas, including company and shareholders disputes, insolvency and bankruptcy, insurance, professional negligence, land, trusts and probate, defamation, employment, matrimonial, PRC cross-border disputes as well as white-collar crime.    

Norman has appeared in all levels of courts in Hong Kong either as a sole advocate or as a led junior.  Prior to joining the Bar, he practised as a solicitor with Clayton Utz in Sydney and Linklaters in Hong Kong. 

Norman is recognised in Chambers & Partners - Chambers Asia-Pacific 2017 as being “best known for his securities-related work and is experienced in acting both for and against the SFC in high-profile cases, where sources regard him as “a commercially aware and pragmatic lawyer and a direct, no-nonsense advocate” who “pulls in a lot of clients.
